Costa Gracia is a tapas restaurant concept. I created its visual identity, placing importance on varying textures and shapes. Ordering tapas is an interesting dining experience of combining things together. So for the menu cover, I merged diverse elements into the composition. I decided to incorporate a specific painting since I thought it could reflect the restaurant’s romantic atmosphere. Luckily that painting’s image is freely allowed for commercial purposes and distribution. As for the actual menu, my goal was to lay out the information in a traditional way, so that it matches the traditional old-fashioned theme of the restaurant. I solely focused on typography and visual hierarchy for everything else. Rustic oak, checkered tiles and historic art aim to connect to Spain’s timeless dining culture.
